Cold War Season 1 Meta?

A new season of fresh and exciting gaming is upon us with the integration of Call of Duty: Cold War into Modern Warfare. Players have been dropping into Verdansk since the original mode for the series was released back in March. Since then, we have seen the addition of many new weapons and metas of the game that has caused a love/hate relationship between players and developers alike. Most of us can remember the Bruen meta followed soon by the R90, fire breath shotgun. If you were playing Warzone as early as Season 1 of Modern Warfare, then you probably remember seeing the M4 and MP5 eliminating you over and over as you grinded for the ever elusive win in this battle royale. Along the way, some of our beloved streamers such as NickMercs, TFue, and Symfuhny brought us other interesting combinations. It could be the two-tap FAL in season 5-6, Kar98k and MP7 duo, and many others. So the question that has brought you here is what is the meta in this Season 1 of Cold War: Warzone?

After playing many hours, sweating for the next Prestige, and dying over and over we have finally uncovered the coveted Meta: DMR and Mac-10. This combination has nearly caused us to break our monitors and throw our controllers countless times already. The Mac-10 is the equivalent of if the Fennec and MP5 from Modern Warfare had a child. The Mac-10 fires at such a rapid pace that you can still use it off the ground and go the distance. Along with a few attachments that stabilize its recoil, increase its damage, and increase its speed, it is truly an overpowered SMG and I fully expect a nerf to happen to this weapon in the near future. On the other side of the coin we have the DMR. I can bet that only a handful of us have truly utilized the tactical rifles in the past, but this is surely to change this. Unlike the Mac-10, base DMR’s aren’t really great to start with and my main problem with it is its iron sights as they are bulky and take up a large part of the screen. That is really all that I can harp on as this gun needs a serious nerf as well. The DMR is already one of my least favorite metas because of how quickly it can put you down. The last time that I felt this way was when my Grau was knocking lil’ Timmys down left and right. When using this rifle, you can put attachments on it to help strafe and pack even more of a punch than any other rifle.

Now for the part that you want to see so that you can go and try this combination out for yourself: What attachments should you be using for these weapons? Let’s start with the DMR. For this pack-a-punched Type 63, you will be needing these attachments.

  • Muzzle: GRU Silencer
  • Barrel: 16.4” Titanium
  • Optic: Whatever sight you wish BUT we suggest the Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Spetsnaz Ergonomic Grip
  • Ammunition: 38 Rnd Speed Mag

Up next is the Mac-10, to fry every enemy down-range, you will need:

  • Muzzle: Muzzle Brake 9
  • Barrel: 5.3” Extended
  • Underbarrel: Patrol Grip
  • Ammunition: STANAG 53 Rnd Drum
  • Stock: Wire Stock

So there ya have it, the toxic meta of Season 1. Here at DeadShot Nation, we want to help you all get that first win and by using this combo, you are certainly boosting your chances of doing so. Do with this information as you will, and drop in to Verdansk and let us know what you think. When you finish the game and your friends are asking how you are playing so well, send them this article and tell them the set up they need to be using. Have fun, catch those dubs, and keep playing.
